Melodies in the Air presents a collaborative exhibition of fashion designers who are influenced by contemporary art and artists who explore the transformative language of fashion.
Based upon the work of 10 artists and designers, Melodies in the Air showcases a discourse between contemporary art and fashion principals. Whilst each artist’s practice is distinct, amongst the works there is a strong stylistic synergy. Each designer explores the possibilities beyond the limitations of the human body by creating pieces that are not wearable, yet still capture the essence of their design philosophies. In addition, each artist has developed a work that is inspired by fashion through elegant use of form and material.
